Elise Huber or Maria Huber?

Anna Maria Elizabeth Huber received this picture from her sister in Switzerland. However, it was not labeled and we do not know which one yet. Any help would be appreciated. Maria Elise Huber was born 1 Sep 1863 in Biel, Bern, Switzerland and died 15 Oct 1945. She married Jakob Hunziker. Anna Elise Huber was born 2 Jun 1867 and died 17 Jul 1965. She married Jakob Mueller. I do not have a great deal of information on these two ladies, but our family has handwritten letters from both.

It could also be sister Amelia.

Johann Andreas Huber Sr., and Anna Wehrli

Johann Andreas Huber was born 20/31 Oct 1805 with the hometown of Horben, near Uesslingen, Thurgau Canton, CH or Switzerland. (See family Book LDS FHL#0958753 FB#100.) He was christened in the Reformed Evangelical Church on 31 Nov 1805.

Johann andreas married Anna Wehrli on 3 Jan 1828 and that record can be found in the Uesslingen Ehe Book Register 1844-1878. also #2005266, page 320 in 1862.

Johann died 20 Sep 1869.

I have not compiled enough notes to put together a sketch of his life yet, though in time to come I hope to do so.

Also, though I have him listed as Sr. in the family book it shows him as a Junior. More food for thought.

Andreas Huber from Buch, Uesslingen

Johann Andreas Huber was born 23 April 1835 from the hometown of Buch-Uesslingen, Thurgau Canton, CH or Switzerland. I think he may have been born in Horben, or even in Biel. All of Andreas records that I have found in Bern Canton, he is listed as a citizen of Buch-Uesslingen, but he is actually recorded in Horben which is near there. Andreas was the fifth child of eight born to Johann Andreas Huber and Anna Wehrli.

Andreas and his father and brother were "farber's". I understand this means he adds color of dye to fabrics. There is a chance that he could have been a house painter. He fell from a five-story building which is better explained if he was a house painter.

In 1867, when he fell, his life was forever changed. His dear wife Anna Gygax, was not able to help him as he needed, raise the small family and earn a living all at the same time. Andreas was never the same. After being hospitalized for two years, the doctors felt he would help himself if forced to, and suggested that Anna divorce him for her sake and his.

He eventually ended up in a poor-house and then another small hospital run by nuns called St. Katharinanthal.
